Engage in deep observation and repeated responses to nature and landscape in paint based on Van Gogh’s creative process. With the guidance of artist Jaqueline Cedar, look, observe, and create multiple studies before your final painting. The workshop begins with a brief talk about works featured in the exhibition Van Gogh’s Cypresses and an introduction to Cedar’s iterative process before an in-depth demonstration of multiple techniques you can use to explore a single subject.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Van Gogh’s Cypresses.

Fee: $95. Materials are included. Please note: Space is limited; advance registration is required. Registration closes on Friday, June 23, 2023, or when registration is full.

Masks are strongly recommended. See our visitor guidelines.

Assistive listening devices with headsets or neck loops are available from the Ticketing Center in the Great Hall. We encourage you to bring your own headphones. For other access accommodations, contact access@metmuseum.org or 212-650-2010.
