Some helped shape traditions in their homelands; others took their talents abroad. But whether cementing national sounds and movements, influencing other prominent artists, or enrapturing audiences from the world’s preeminent concert stages, Latin American composers have been trailblazers for centuries. Join the Catalyst Quartet (the Museum’s ’22-’23 Quartet in Residence) as they celebrate the reach and impact of Latin America’s most talented tunesmiths, featuring a brand-new dance choreographed and performed by American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Herman Cornejo

Program:
Antônio Carlos Gomes: Sonata para Cordas "O burrico de pau" ("The Wooden Donkey")
Teresa Carreño: String Quartet in B minor
Astor Piazzolla: Suite del Ángel, arr. Catalyst Quartet (featuring Herman and Erica Cornejo)
